MLRA celebrate July 4th in Oklahoma and Missouri
Clint Brown
June 28, 2006
The July 4th weekend
is rapidly approaching and the drivers and crews of the O'Reilly
MLRA are preparing for two big nights of action at Outlaw
Motor Speedway, in Muskogee, OK, and then Lucas Oil Speedway
in Wheatland, MO.
Racing kicks off
on Saturday, July 1, as the O'Reilly MLRA travels to Outlaw
Motor Speedway for their Independence Day Special. Shane Essary
made traveling to OMS worthwhile as the picked up his first
ever O'Reilly MLRA win as the series stopped in on May 20.
Point leader Al Purkey will be looking to end his month long
dry spell from the winner's circle and add to his O'Reilly
MLRA wins total. Right behind Purkey in second is Alan Vaughn
who has been held without a win to this point, but a recent
surge in performance sees the Belton, MO resident coming closer
and closer to that first win of the season. Behind Purkey
and Vaughn the Oklahoma duo of Mike Brown and Charlie Randolph
will lead the host of O'Reilly MLRA regulars and local contingent
looking to take home the OMS win. Pure Stock, Hobby Stock,
E Mods, and Modifieds will also be running followed by a fireworks
display. Gates open at 5:00 pm with the green flag dropping
at 7:00 pm. Adult admission is only $10.00 with Seniors and
Kids (6-12) $5.00 while 5 and under are free. In addition
OMS also offers a family pack for only $25.00. Pit pass pricing
is $30.00 for adults and $20.00 for kids. For more information
visit Outlaw Motor Speedway on the web at www.outlawmotorspeedway.com
or give them a call at 918-687-9200.
Monday, July 3,
the O'Reilly MLRA will make their way up the road to the beautiful
new Lucas Oil Speedway in Wheatland, MO for their second visit
of the year. Justin Wells and Mike Brown brought the fans
to their feet as they christened the track with some thrilling
side by side action with Wells pulling out his first O'Reilly
MLRA win, but a mere 6 inches, on the opening night for the
facility. Brown will be looking to move up a notch and work
his way to the top spot while a tough field will be looking
to take home the loot for themselves including Al Purkey,
Alan Vaughn, Charlie Randolph, David Turner, Brett LaFollette,
and the rest of the O'Reilly MLRA drivers coupled with a talent
laden local field of drivers. Gates open at 4:00 pm with hot
laps set to roll onto the track at 6:30 pm and racing to follow.
Adult admission is $25.00 with Seniors and teens (12 - 17)
$17.00. Pit passes for the night are $25.00. For more information
